Why Study?

As semester grades approach I wonder how many of you can truly say to yourself that you have taken the opportunity to improve your academic standing. For the past two months the coaching staff has allotted ample time to speak with all of you about the importance of earning the grades necessary to be successful on and off the mat. We have had two grade checks, numerous conferences with individual athletes as well as with the team. The two week academic training camp before practice is coming to a close and I really hope all of you took advantage of the time spent on the mat, academically.

I do not believe that any one of you can look back and say that our coaching staff, teachers, parents and fellow athletes did not attempt to help each and every one of you to be successful to improve on your grades. Why study? Because it sets up good habits for your future and also understand that scholarships are awarded for students with good grades as well as students who are also good athletes. Why study? Because when grades come out, each wrestler must have earned at least a minimum 2.0 GPA. If not I will be forced to release you from membership of our wrestling team. No excuses! No exceptions! We have all attempted to show you the path to success and it was and is up to you to follow that path. I truly hope each and every one of you will still be a member of the Mustangs Wrestling Team when the academic semester comes to a close. Win & Lose the same way...Like a Champion, and remember, Good Grades are a Must if you Train with us
