Eleanor Roosevelt vs. Lakeside

What a great way to start our Mustangs wrestling season.  First off, all of you should be proud of each other and how you handled the pressure of your opening home match.  You really made your team look great and the coaching staff is very proud of all of you.

 

Let’s start with the overflow.  The reason I call it the “over flow” is because I don’t like you to think you can’t take the varsity spot.  Remember each week you can challenge for the spot as long as you have eighty percent attendance, great attitude and good grades.

 

Now let’s get down to it, the over flow did great and believe me, I was watching.  You guys are the future of this team and the future looks very exciting.  Keep up the hard work and varsity watch your back.

 

Next, the JV team rose to the occasion, winning ten of the fourteen matches all by pinning their opponents.  I can’t tell you how excited we are because pinning your opponent is the ultimate victory in wrestling and ten of you experienced that moment together.  Keep up the hard work and again, varsity beware.

 

Now for the varsity team, What a great start to your season.  I can’t tell you how much it pleases me and the rest of the coaching staff to see you battle for that victory together.  58  -  21, that is no luck, that is hard work paying off and most of you earned your pay check and collected it against Lakeside.

 

Again, of the fourteen spots, ten of you won and eight of you had the ultimate victory by pinning.  One had to go the distance but did not let his opponent score a single point.  Great job to all of you.

 

I believe in each and everyone of you, but you must believe in yourself first.  Let’s strive to improve from this point forward as a team and individual alike.  Hard work pays off, so keep up the hardcore training, be physical and most of all have fun.

 

Believe you are champions, train like champions and you will become champions.  Congratulations.
