Eleanor Roosevelt Mustangs Wrestling  2010  -  2011

 

WELCOME BACK RETURNERS  -  WELCOME ABOARD NEW WRESLERS!

 

We are about to embark on our fifth wrestling season here at Eleanor Roosevelt High School.  In the past for seasons we have had many talented individual accomplishments for a new program.  Now we must consider ourselves as a team, not as individuals.  We must become a team with one common goal in mind, striving to become champions together.  We can no longer fall back on individuals or excuses but must except all challenges this year, as a team.  Many of you that continue to work hard and except the team challenge will enjoy wrestling this year. 

Those that don’t will be dropped from the team and not allowed to return.

 

We have allowed many of you to stay on the team in the past when your GPA was not at or above 2.0, not anymore.  We accepted excuses why you did not come to practice or were late, not anymore. We always put each individual first to accommodate their needs, not anymore.  We allowed people to hang out in the wrestling room even when they were not on the team, not anymore.  This year if you cannot commit to the team all year long and be on time for every practice/competition, then drop now.  If you do not have a 2.0 GPA at the start of season, you will be dropped from the team, you are only allowed to miss three practices and no competitions for the entire season, use them wisely.  Your time management is your responsibility, not ours.

 

There will be no more excuses, I understand homework must be done, but you are responsible to be at every practice/competition and complete your homework on your own time.  If you are unable to do this then you must change your time management schedule to fit in homework and the team.  Remember, you must make every practice/competition or you will be dropped from the team.

 

I have all the confidence in the world that our team is of championship caliber this year.  Without setting these rules in place an demanding hard work and dedication to this sport of wrestling we will not get to out team goals.  So are you up for the team challenge this year?
